  The Martha Stewart company celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary by creating a new logo and ridding itself of a long and ominous name. After nearly a month of drawing every conceivable M, S and thirteen-letter combination, the simple and elegant ring type was created as a symbol of optimism and community. We drew each letter in two different weights based on a combination of Trajan, Optima and an obscure cut from the 1923 American Type Foundry catalog. We wrote guidelines to set the rules for how the new logo can pull together so many already established sub-brands.   See also:
